Caroline Langill’sMay 4 to June 16, 2001 Norwood-based artist Caroline Langill presented an elaborate multimedia project featuring a machine mounted onto the ceiling of Artspace that suspended a video projector. In turn, the projector cast onto the floor of the gallery a scrolling image of a woman, simulating the motion of a "digital scan". Langill located the subject of her work in the highly politicized discourse surrounding the politics of scientific inquiry into biotechnology. The exciting yet terrifying implications of such technological developments were starkly realized through Langill’s provocative installation.
